New funding from MuchLoved (February 2026)

We’re really pleased to share that we have been awarded a grant from MuchLoved to support a new series of Grief Awareness Talks across Waltham Forest.

This funding will help us create more spaces for open, honest conversations about grief in our community — helping people understand how grief can affect us and the many different ways it can be experienced.

The topics for these talks have grown directly out of conversations in our Grief Cafés and may include:

• Neurodiversity and grief
• Managing difficult feelings such as anger and guilt
• LGBTQIA+ grief

A huge thank you to MuchLoved for making this work possible.

MuchLoved is the UK’s leading in-memory platform, helping people remember someone special and fundraise in their memory. Do give them a follow and take a look at their website to learn more: https://www.muchloved.com/

Glasgow Death Cafe (June 2025)

We are always delighted to raise awareness about Death Cafes and how they create safe and confidential spaces to talk about death, dying and grief, and so we welcomed the opportunity for The Sunday Post journalist, Stevie Gallacher, to join us at Glasgow Death Cafe which we host in partnership with Glasgow Libraries.

More funding for our Good Grief Project in Waltham Forest (December 2024)

We’re thrilled to announce that our Good Grief Together Project in Waltham Forest  has received 18-months of funding from the National Lottery Community Fund!

This incredible support allows us to continue creating safe, welcoming spaces where people can come together, share their grief, and find connection in our Grief Cafes.

The funding will also enable us to continue delivering our Understanding Grief awareness talks and expand our work by launching Grief Walks – a new initiative inspired by community feedback.

BBC Morning Live – Talking About Bereavement (February 2024)

On 15th Feb 2024 we appeared on BBC Morning Live talking about bereavement with presenter Jackie Joseph.

Many people who attend our Grief and Death Cafes talk about how isolating and lonely grief can feel, particularly when other people don’t know what to say to you.

So when we were approached by the BBC, to take part in a film about bereavement, we knew we had to participate to help raise awareness of grief and how to support someone who is grieving.

Some of our cafe attendees shared their own personal experiences of grief and shared their thoughts about the different ways we can support someone who is grieving and also what to say to them – saying something is better than saying nothing.
