Our Death & Grief Cafes offer a safe, confidential, and welcoming space where people—often strangers—come together to talk openly about death, dying, and grief.
There is no agenda or objectives; the conversation is simply led by the people in the group. We sit in small groups so it’s easy to participate. It is a place to talk and share or just listen.
At a Death Cafe, the focus is on exploring feelings, questions, and reflections about death and mortality. The aim is to increase awareness of death, encouraging us to live our finite lives to the fullest.
At our Grief Cafes, the conversation focuses on the thoughts, feelings, and experiences of grief, providing a space for connection and support.
Grief Walk – Step into nature, breathe deeply, and find support as you walk with others who understand.
Our Grief Walks offer a calm and welcoming space to move at your own pace, whether you want to reflect quietly, share your thoughts, or simply take in the beauty of Walthamstow Wetlands.
At this first Grief Walk, the Walthamstow Wetlands team will lead a creative, nature-inspired activity before taking us on a guided walk around the Wetlands.
Our volunteer hosts will be available to help you participate in any way you wish to.
The walk is FREE to attend.
Whatever your loss, and whether this is recent or a long time ago, everyone is welcome.
