SUMMARY:Leytonstone Death Cafe
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Leytonstone Library to talk openly about death\, dying & the end of life in a safe and confidential space. \nWe’re hosting this Death Café for National Dying Matters Awareness Week (4-10 May). This year’s Dying Matters Awareness Week is focusing on the importance of conversations about death and dying with family\, friends\, employers\, anyone in your life – helping you to get the conversation started. \nOur Death Cafe is a safe\, confidential and friendly space for people to come together and talk openly and honestly about death\, dying\, and making the most of our finite lives. Small groups sit around a table and conversation flows without agenda or direction. The conversation is led by the people in the group\, and therefore\, each session is unique. \nA hot drink and biscuits will be available! \nIt’s important to note that Death Cafe is not a bereavement/grief support resource and we advise that you do not attend if you have been very recently bereaved and your grief feels very raw. \nWhy do people attend? \nPeople attend a Death Cafe for all sorts of reasons. It might be that an illness or getting older makes death feel more present and they feel a need to talk or explore it further. \nSome people come because they want to find out how to broach the subject of death and dying with someone close to them\, like parents or grandparents. Or it might be a fear of death or dying that prompts someone to attend. For some people\, it is just a desire to be more open or a curiosity about the subject. \nEveryone is welcome. We aim to create a space where people of all sexualities\, genders\, cultures\, and backgrounds feel safe and respected. \nCome and join us!

SUMMARY:Grief\, Guilt and Anger
DESCRIPTION:Guilt and anger are normal emotional responses when experiencing grief\, however that does not make them easy emotions to feel\, and they may look different for everyone. \nGrief\, Guilt and Anger will look at how and why these feelings might manifest\, and interconnect. Together\, we will explore practical and compassionate ways of coping when these feelings become too overwhelming\, and you will also be invited to share your own experiences in a supportive environment. \nAlthough the event will be interactive\, there will be no pressure to participate. You’re welcome to listen\, share\, or simply reflect — whatever feels right for you. \nThe session will be led by Amber Turner-Flanders and Ellie Golinski\, Clinical Associate Psychologists from Waltham Forest Mental Health & Wellbeing Team\, and has been made possible thanks to funding from MuchLoved. \nMuchLoved is the UK’s leading in-memory platform\, helping people remember someone special and fundraise in their memory. \nDo come and join us.
